The Rundown: Storm discovers a way to end Sinister’s dominion over the world, but can she trust the source of the information?

In the aftermath of the destruction of Arrako, Storm and a handful of mutants managed to escape from Sinister and his forces to a secret base. When Destiny arrives to meet with Storm, Ironfire sees through Mystique’s disguise, but the shapeshifter gives Ororo information that could be useful.

Information that will cause Storm to assemble her team and transport to Muir Island to find Sinister’s secret base. A base holding something that could end their decimated world. Something that one of them will betray the team to take possession of to deliver to forces that could be more dangerous.

The Story: Ewing crafts an entertaining and thrilling story in this first issue. Storm is given a level of agency that makes every thing she does in the story worth reading. I love the make up of her team and how she interacts with them. There is some great action in the story and I love the twists and reveals within it as well as what they mean going forward.

The Art: Medina’s art is fantastic. Beautifully detailed and filled with visual wonder and spectacle, Medina transports the reader visually to a world that captures the imagination.
