The official Star Wars website has just announced that production on the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi is about to begin and they have released a first look at the cast for the upcoming prequel series.
According to the synopsis; The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.
The cast list is impressive and includes Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. Along with the new cast members, the series will also feature the return of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader as well the return of Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse returning as Luke’s aunt and uncle Owen Lars and his wife Beru from the prequels.
Deborah Chow will direct the series for Disney Plus that will begin production this April.
