The Rundown: Erica takes a trip down memory lane to a monster with a unique pool of victims.

Five years in the past, Erica finds herself in Minnesota on the hunt for a dangerous creature that has killed two kids so far. After befriending a young man in the small town and learning more about the creature she’s facing, she contacts her organization and becomes more frustrated at their attitude towards her mission.

After discovering that the monster she faces has a particular kind of victim it stalks, Erica has to result is some unusual methods to hunt it before she returns to the road.

The Story: James Tynion IV takes the reader into Erica’s past with a new arc that delivers an entertaining story. The story has some great moments for the characters as well as an interesting monster for her to hunt. The story does a fantastic job of showcasing the internal politics that plagued the character and the conflicts she deals with. Conflicts that ultimately shape who she becomes. I love the road trip aspect of the story and look forward to seeing where she ends up next.

The Art: Dell’Edera continues to deliver impressive and visually compelling art throughout the issue. I love the detailed pages and panels as well as the emotions of the characters.
