Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters film is about to add another member to its growing cast.
According to Deadline, actress Sigourney Weaver will be returning to the role of Dana Barrett which she originated in the original 1984 comedy. Weaver is expected to join original cast members Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray in the film. Weaver commented about her return in Parade magazine stating; “It’s going to be crazy working with the guys again!” she said.
The next entry in the Ghostbusters franchise will be written and directed by Jason Reitman, the son of original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman. While details about the new film are being well guarded, the new film is scheduled for release July 2020.
This weekend marked the 35th anniversary of the release of the original film June 8, 1984.
