Among the stars, Kadyn finds himself able to soar and survive among the creatures that call it home. His new companions are both fearful and in awe of the young boy’s ability to interact with creatures and environments that would kill any other living creature. That awe turns to fear when Kadyn discovers the ability to call space creatures to him and the one he calls is a giant Quarkshark. As the boy tests his powers against the creature, someone watches from a distance.

At the same time, Kadyn’s dad continues his search for the boy and that search will lead to him crashing onto a distant moon As he continues to run out of oxygen, the determined father has to find a way to survive this new environment, When his attempts to leave are thwarted by a security robot, some improvisation might be just what he needs to get off the moon and back into the stars. Unfortunately, he discovers that he isn’t alone.

The Story: Sea of Stars continues to be a fun and interesting ride that transcends its story with engaging themes. Jason Aaron and Dennis Hallum deliver a story that is both fantastic in scope, but also personal in its plot. As Kadyn continues to explore, you follow his journey and are in awe of his new powers. At the same time, the desire for father and son to reunite remains at its emotional core and the writers do a great job of bringing that out in this issue.

The Art: Stephen Green has some stunning art throughout this issue. Everything looks new and fantastic and the characters traverse a gloriously detailed and rich universe.
