Robin #2

DC Comics

Written by Joshua Williamson

Art by Gleb Melnikov

Colors by Luis Guerrero

Letters by ALW’s Troy Peteri

The Rundown: Robin’s adventure on Lazarus Island continues.

Robin awakens after a deadly injury. Ravager then explains the rules of the Lazarus Tournament and gives him practical advice. Later, Robin and Flatline discover something unusual. And Robin makes a decision on how to proceed.

The Story: Williamson has crafted an energetic narrative that is filled with excitement. The fast paced tone is engaging without feeling rushed or forced. And I feel a connection to the characters. Although Robin’s arrogance is a turn-off, I am interested to see how this experience will impact his character. I look forward to seeing this plot line evolve.

The Art: Guerrero’s color work includes brilliant colors and stunning tones that change with the time of day and mood. This pairs nicely with Melnikov’s detailed drawings. The artwork in this issue is transportive and emotionally connective.
