The Rundown: Kutter’s investigation into a potential murder will bring her to some powerful people and a new partner.

The circumstances that brought Kutter to the Powers division are revealed as she grills Captian Pilgrim about finding her badge at the scene of a murder. A murder that includes a man with no face and a possible connection to Pilgrim’s past. Kutter decides to pay a visit to the Cubes, but strikes out on speaking with the heroes there.

After returning to the crime lab, she and the medical examiner find something unusual about the corpse and specifically, his missing face. Something that will get the attention of some very powerful and connected people. As Kutter pays another visit to the Cubes, she is told that she will be meeting her new partner.

The Story: Bendis continues to create a fantastic return to the world of Powers in this issue. I love the characters and Kutter has some great moments throughout the story. I love the dialogue and the interaction with Pilgrim as well as the visit to the Cubes. The story progresses a great mystery that I am invested in and I cannot wait to see what happens with Kutter and her new partner.

The Art: Oeming’s art is spectacular. I love the visual style and the visual beauty and details of the world.
