Actor Patrick Stewart released a photo on Twitter that showcased himself and members of the writing staff for the upcoming CBS All Access series based on the future adventures of Captain Jean Luc Picard.


The yet untitled series was announced to much fanfare from Trek fans and Stewart’s Tweet that the “journey has begun” indicates that the writer’s room is gearing up to begin telling stories of the fate of the Star Trek the Next Generation captain.


Joining Stewart in the room are Kirsten Beyer (writer of multiple novels based on Star Trek: Voyager as well as a staff writer for Star Trek: Discovery), Michael Chabon (writer of the screen story for Spider-Man 2 and the recently announced MASK film), Akiva Goldsman (Academy Award winning screenwriter of A Beautiful Mind as well as Executive Producer of Star Trek: Discovery), Diandra Pendleton-Thompson (writer of the short films Lucky Night and Awakening Love) and James Duff (creator and writer of The Closer and Major Crimes).

Discovery EP Alex Kurtzman will oversee the series which will center on the continuation of Picard’s story.
