The Rundown: Val and her friends discover that their mission is going to get a lot more dangerous.

There’s a new convoy on the dark roads in the wake of the Big PM and it’s led by a familiar face, Val. The story picks up with Piper telling the tale of the new convoy, its familiar faces, and their mission to save the world. A mission that will bring them to a veritable fortress bathed in screens and lights designed to keep out the shades. With the possibility of trouble waiting for them as they reach what’s called the Drive-In, the crew comes locked and loaded as they prepare to see if anyone is home. Anyone who might have information they need to continue their mission.

When they enter the facility, they almost immediately realize that something is wrong when no one comes to greet them and there are no signs of an attack by the shades. When they do find a survivor, he tells them a harrowing story that is too horrible to believe. At the same time, Blacktop Bill continues his mission and runs into some opposition that tells him that he’s being hunted. When the convoy runs into a bigger problem on the road, Val tells everyone they have a new mission. One that is more dangerous than anything they’ve faced so far.

The Story: Switching the narration to Piper was a great idea by Snyder. Giving a new perspective on events not only engaged me in a new way, but it also allowed me as a reader to see the characters differently as well. The story continues to by compelling and entertaining and I love the tension throughout the plot as well as the action and terror. Knowing that the team’s next mission is makes me excited for what’s to come.

The Art: Daniel delivers some beautifully detailed and thrilling imagery on every page of this issue. The action is thrilling and there are some great visual scares to be found throughout.
