This April will see the end of Game of Thrones on HBO. The highly popular series will be signing off, but that doesn’t mean that the world of Westeros will be gone for good.

According to Deadline, the currently untitled Game of Thrones prequel series pilot has found an Academy Award nominee to join the cast for the pilot episode.

Miranda Richardson is said to be joining the cast of the upcoming pilot. She will join announced series regulars Naomi Watts, Josh Whitehouse, Naomi Ackie, Denise Gough, Jamie Campbell Bower, Sheila Atim, Ivanno Jeremiah, Georgie Henley, Alex Sharp and Toby Regbo. The series will take place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones and will chronicle the world’s descent from the Golden Age of Heroes to its darkest hour.

The upcoming series will be written by Jane Goldman and executive produced by Goldman, Game of Thrones creator George RR Martin, Vince Gerardis and others.

Miranda Richardson was nominated for two Academy Awards for her roles in the films Damage and Tom & Viv. She is also known for her roles in films like Sleepy Hollow, The Crying Game and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. She can next be seen in Neil Gaiman’s Good Omens.
