Sebastian Shaw is about to get a harsh lesson from Emma Frost. Instead of transporting the much needed Krakoan medicines where they were intended, Shaw hired Batroc and his crew to steal the shipment to deliver it elsewhere. Kitty and her crew of Marauders are dispatched to intercept and teach both Shaw and Batroc a lesson.

With the impending financial ruin of his plan looming, Emma invites Shaw to the London offices of the Hellfire Trading Company to teach him a lesson in person, but also to introduce him to the vert familiar face of the new Red Monarch of the Hellfire Trading Company.

The Story: The second issue of Marauders is a thoroughly enjoyable and fun ride. The story is fantastic. Gerry Duggan nails both the dialogue, but also a fun, but serious tone for the story itself. I loved the contrasting stories of Kitty and her crew dealing with Shaw’s double dealing while Emma confronts the man himself on their home turf. Both parts of the story come together in a beautiful way and this story affirms how interesting a character like Kitty Pryde can be. I look forward to seeing where this series goes next with both its characters and its mission.

The Art: Matteo Lolli’s art is stunning in this issue. The characters come alive on the page and the art itself is filled with energy. Emma has some beautiful subtle looks throughout the issue and Shaw’s rage is depicted perfectly. I love the art in this issue.
