The Rundown: A young woman is determined to discover what happened to a classmate who’s disappeared.

The young people on the island of Cravenwood continue to deal with the loss of a missing student while taking advantage of the new technology that has become part of the fabric of the town. Unable to get the message out about finding the missing teen, RJ deals with the mean girl of the school who was the missing girl’s best friend and she ends up punished for it.
After her sibling offers to help her get the word out, RJ finds herself falling down a rabbit hole of information regarding the case. A rabbit hole that will reveal secrets that will make her more determined to discover the truth.
The Story: Rubine crafts an entertaining and interesting story in this first issue. It is a bit of a slow burn as it takes the time to establish characters, relationships and situations, but the story is enhanced by drops of QR codes that add layers, depth and atmosphere to the story. I really enjoyed feeling like a part of the world of this story with those elements and I look forward to seeing where the story goes next.
The Art: Rubine delivers some beautifully detailed and visually impressive art throughout the story. The characters and environments look unique and brilliantly styled.
