The ever-growing cast of A-list talent circling the upcoming Dune remake is getting bigger by the week.
According to multiple reports in The Hollywood Reporter and others, two more huge stars are in negotiations to join the cast of Dune from Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villenueve.
Avengers Infinity War star Josh Brolin is in negotiations to play the role of Gurney Halleck in the film. Gurney is the chief swordmaster and weapons teacher to Paul. He is loyal to House Atreides and Duke Leto. Halleck was previously portrayed on-screen by Star Trek: The Next Generation star Patrick Stewart. Brolin recently starred in both Avengers Infinity War and Deadpool 2. He can next be seen reprising the role of Thanos in Avengers Endgame.
The next piece of potential casting news is just as big. Jason Mamoa is in talks to take on the role of Duncan Idaho in the upcoming film. Idaho is skilled pilot and swordmaster loyal to House Atreides. Idaho was previously portrayed by Hunt for Red October star Richard Jordan. Mamoa recently starred as the lead in the hit film Aquaman, which has earned over one billion dollars at the box office.
If the deals go through, Brolin and Mamoa will join Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgard, Charlotte Rampling and possibly Oscar Isaac.
