The Rundown: John helps a mythical creature with her plight while listening to her tale of love and woe.

A sea creature falls in love with a human and finds herself pregnant and in trouble. Rescued by Constantine, the creature tells him about her life with the man and it is up to Constantine to fill in the blanks in her memory with the truth of his abuse towards her and how he used her for his own purposes. Abuse that led her to her current state. One the magician might not be able to save her from.

When the man himself arrives, Constantine surprises him and gives him a taste of the justice he richly deserves.

The Story: This was a great issue. Sad and melancholy in its tone, but full of the dark humor that makes the character so appealing. Simon Spurrier gives the reader a well done tale that is filled with great dialogue and a resolution that is both sad and oddly satisfying.

The Art: Aaron Campbell’s art strikes the perfect tone for this story. It is beautifully dark and detailed with a rough quality that’s perfect for the noir quality of the story.
