Jane and the rest of the doctors find themselves starting down the Death of Death itself. A being sent by the Living Tribunal to determine if death is still necessary. The doctors find themselves asking that same question as they move deeper into the realm and discover that they are no longer being attacked by antibodies protecting the host. They are deep in the disease itself.

After making their way deeper still, the team breaks apart due to their shared personal and professional experiences with death and it is up to Jane Foster to finally confront death itself and determine if her presence is still necessary. A determination that will be based not only her profession, but on her life as a cancer survivor.

The Story: This was an incredibly well done and compelling conclusion to this story arc. Aaron and Ewing make excellent use of Jane’s history in this story and her final confrontation is beautifully done. There are so many great moments in this issue and the dynamic of this team itself is something that I hope gets explored again in the future. A fun, creative and satisfying end to this particular arc.

The Art: Perez imbues the art with both beautiful details and stunning action. Even though the story is character focused, Perez is allowed to create a beautifully strange and stunning world for these characters to occupy.
