The Rundown: Priyanka discovers being the woman she admires is harder than she thought.
Ayesha Shen’s recent life as a Bollywood star is showcased before her face to face meeting with her biggest fan. Ayesha is a former model turned beloved star, but there is something missing from her life. Something she is trying to recapture but nothing in her professional or personal lives are going the way she wants and then she finds herself being taken over from within by Priyanka who wants desperately to be her.
Unfortunately, Priyanka will discover that just taking over the body of her favorite star is harder than she thought as she flubs lines on set and has an awkward encounter with Ayesha’s husband that will lead to something terrifying.
The Story: Bidikar continues to craft a dark, thrilling and engaging story in this issue. There are moments of great body horror throughout the issue, but the drama of Ayesha’s life is almost as compelling as the horror elements of the story. Bidikar crafts a great balance between the two and I am interested in seeing where this story goes next.
The Art: Som creates some beautifully detailed and visually shocking moments throughout the issue. I really like the art style a lot and how visceral the horror looks on the page.
