The Rundown: Hellboy rescues a young woman in hell who is more than she seems.

There is an uprising in hell and some of its most dangerous demons are being targeted for death. Hellboy finds himself in the depths of hell battling winged demons chasing after a young woman on the run.

After rescuing her, Hellboy and the woman make their way to a small house where a withered hag warns him that they young woman is trying to poison him. As the conflict escalates, Hellboy finds himself facing off against the old woman as the young one reveals a dangerous secret.

The Story: Mignola and Pomes jump right into the action and thrills with this story and I really found myself entertained by the immediacy of events. The story does a great job of giving the stakes and raising them accordingly as Hellboy finds himself pulled into the action and conflict within the story itself.

The Art: Pomes delivers some beautifully crafted and detailed art throughout the story that is reminiscent of Mignola’s visual style but stands on its own.
