The Rundown: John Stewart fights a deadly infection with help from a friend.

Still infected with the power of the revenant dead, John Stewart fights an internal battle with a new ally who will kill him if he fails. When he finds it harder to fight off the infection, John discovers that the ring of one of the fallen lanterns survived.

After taking the ring to Steel, John works on a way to restart it. A way that will give him the ability to fight off the infection and focus his power. At the same time, the corruption of the United Planets continues and a member decides to send a force to Earth.

The Story: The story takes some big narrative swings thanks to Phillip Kennedy Johnson. The plot continues to be compelling and personal for the character. The threats continue to grow and become more intriguing. Johnson delivers some great moments for John that show his resilience and determination.

The Art: Montos delivers fantastic imagery throughout the issue. The art has beautiful detail and captures the dark, emotional tone of the story.
