The Rundown: In a world taken over by the green, Swamp Thing searches for something rare.

The cities are abandoned and the only people left are Swamp Thing and his progeny. As he tells the story of the humans who once inhabited the world, some of his children are off on a dangerous mission. When an explosion rocks the city, Swamp Thing goes to rescue his children and learn what they might have found on their mission. Using his connection to the green, Swamp Thing and his family move north into the snowy regions on the trail of possible humans.

After finding a lone, frightened man in the wilderness, Swamp Thing talks to the man and learns about a colony of humans still living on the Earth. A colony run by someone with a connection to Swamp Thing and a plan that will unleash an unstable power on the world.

The Story: Ram V delivers a beautifully detailed and engaging story with this issue. Not only are the mysteries intriguing, but the characters are well done and engrossing. The conflicts within add a level of drama that I cannot wait to see explored. The story has a great pace and relies on character rather than spectacle. Everything culminates into an awesome cliffhanger that I cannot wait to see unfold.

The Art: Mike Perkins delivers some beautiful art in this issue. The character scenes are brilliantly drawn and detailed. The anatomy panels are gorgeous. There is a vibrancy to the art that even the darker moments exude.
