After all the delays and negative press, CBS All Access has finally released the first trailer for the new series Star Trek: Discovery and it was worth the wait.

Many longtime Trek fans, including myself, were worried about the status of the latest television series in the Star Trek universe. With all of the negative press that the series was receiving, fans were cautious about this next offering. The trailer looks really good in my opinion.

The series is set ten years before Kirk, Spock and the Enterprise set sail for strange new worlds. This series follows a ship on the outer edge of Federation space. We get our first look at the Discovery as well as the fact that Sonequa Martin’s character appears to be half Vulcan. It looks like the central conflict will be between the Discovery and the Klingons. The trailer does seem to be an interesting hybrid between the series and the rebooted movie universe in look. It will be interesting to see how they build this new series and how it finds its own way in the Star Trek mythos.

Before Kirk, Spock and the Enterprise there was Discovery. Now, one of the most iconic and influential global franchises returns to television with Star Trek: Discovery. The CBS All Access Original Series arrives this Fall.
