The Rundown: As the game continues, one of the civilians deals with a deranged nurse.
The game continues in a small town and the paramedics don’t realize that the new nurse they’re transporting to the local hospital is one of the players. As the powerful elites watch events unfold, they continue to plot and scheme as one of them worries about her sister being one of the combatants.
Laura and Ian lose Nurse Pete once they arrive and another civilian finds himself in the thick of the action when his new friend takes him on a ride as someone else discovers the horrors of the game being played before Laura confronts Nurse Pete killing patients throughout the hospital.
The Story: Pichetshote and Tynion IV continue to craft a darkly entertaining and thrilling story in this issue. It is filled with wonderfully suspenseful and tension filled moments with Nurse Pete and I loved seeing the characters have more agency as they realize the truth and fight back. The writers are crafting an interesting and creative world in this series and I look forward to seeing where the story goes next.
The Art: De Landro and Walsh deliver fantastic art throughout the issue. There is a visual beauty to the brutality and the imagery captures the tone and mood of the story.
