The Rundown: Ernest continues to grapple with what happened to him while a determined police detective starts to ask questions.
Ernest Glickman’s life is about to get more complicated when a police detective goes to the morgue to investigate his death. After he leaves, the button and Ernie take over and resurrect Ernest as the detective heads to the university to look for information. Unfortunately, she finds Ernest very much alive.
As Ernest’s personality goes through some dramatic changes, he begins to investigate what happened to him the night before. After returning to the bar and leaving with more questions than answers, Ernest runs into the biker gang that almost killed him and decides to show them who and what he’s become.
The Story: Lobdell delivers an intense and intriguing story in this issue. The action is really well done and the mystery is interesting. I liked seeing the contrast between Ernie and Ernest and how they clash internally. It will be interesting to see how the dynamic evolves and plays out. I like that there is a deeper mystery being crafted in the story and how intense the plot and characters get.
The Art: Medel delivers some great visuals throughout the issue. The action is intense and brutal and there are awesome details to be found in every panel.
