The Rundown: The Eternals attempt to get used to life among the Deviants as Thanos prepares to make his ascension permanent.

The Eternals stay in the Deviant capital of Lemuria has helped quell the rise of Deviant violence by its most extreme citizens. Unfortunately, their presence is still not wanted by many who remember the history they share with their new neighbors. Something Kingo and Ikkaris learn all too well. As they continue to work towards forging a better relationship with the Deviants, Phastos works to remember how he was going to stop Thanos from betraying him.

At the same time, Druig returns with the help of Thanos and discovers that his recent memories have been wiped. As he takes his place by Thanos’ side, Druig begins to plot again. In Lemuria, Thena deals with the potential loss of someone she cares about while Thanos discovers he needs Phastos to make his resurrection permanent. As the Eternals attempt to lead new lives among the Deviants, Thanos prepares for war.

The Story: Gillen crafts and exciting and entertaining story in this issue. The characters are evolving and changing and it’s refreshing to see how they acclimate to different circumstances and relationships. The vulnerability of the characters is engaging and I continue to be impressed with the intrigue in everyone’s stories.

The Art: Ribic crafts some beautiful imagery throughout the issue. The characters are dramatic and dynamic throughout and Thanos is truly menacing.
