The Rundown: Milton thinks of his life before the war as he fights to survive behind enemy lines.
Milton finds himself hiding behind enemy lines and going through his belongings to see if he still has what he needs to complete his mission. After finding out how many bullets he has and the explosives he still possesses, his mind returns to his previous life and the woman he loved.
As he thinks back to his courtship of the woman who would become his wife, he finds himself swept up by the reports of enemy forces threatening the world. As his thoughts return to the present, he commits to completing his mission as enemy forces move closer to where he is hiding.
The Story: Remender crafts a thrilling, intimate and entertaining story in this issue. I like seeing Milton’s life before the war and how his thoughts and beliefs are both challenged and evolved during his relationship with his wife. There are some great moments for the character throughout the story and I love the growing tension the story provides as danger moves closer to him.
The Art: Acuna delivers stunning art throughout the issue. The visual style is beautifully detailed and visually engaging both in the character designs and the visual tone of the art.
