The Rundown: Batman learns more about The Lion, but it might already be too late for the city.

Desperate to find out when the biological attack on Gotham will begin, Bruce learns from Barbara that he has a direct connection to Leo outside of taking his father down as Batman. He learns that Leo admired Bruce Wayne and has been trying emulate him. He also discovers that the young man is also connected to Wildcat and Black Canary through training with them.

As Terrific and others work on a cure, Batman continues to feel the effects of the infection. When his allies continue the investigation, there is an attack on the manor. One that forces Batman out into the open where Leo confronts him not only with a trap he set that Robin walked into, but also how the attack Batman has been investigating began before he even knew it.

The Story: Taylor crafts a thrilling, engaging and entertaining story in this issue. I really love this arc and how it handles Batman. The investigation also creates some interesting moments as you learn more about the main antagonist. There’s some great action in the story and I love the reveal towards the end as I was chiding myself for missing that vital clue at the beginning of the arc.

The Art: Janin is one of my favorite artists and this issue reflects what I love about their visual style. There are so many beautifully detailed moments and I love the otherworldly look of the villain and how he stands out from the rest of the world.
