The Rundown: Batman and the Mayor must escape the sewers of Gotham City to stop a rampaging creature from infecting the population.

Batman works to save the Mayor’s life and in the aftermath, he informs Oracle that there may be more parasite eggs in the tunnels. Barbara sends a message out to Nightwing and Orphan who immediately go on the hunt for any hatched parasites while Batman and Nakano find themselves trapped by a larger infestation. As the creature makes it way to the surface, Batman and the Mayor follow with the Dark Knight and his team fighting to destroy the creature before it infects others.

In the aftermath, Batman attempts to forge a new relationship with the Mayor by sharing information. As Mayor Nakano deals with the aftermath of what happened at City Hall, he decides that he might need to take a new approach to protecting the city and begins to make some new plans for Gotham.

The Story: Tamaki wraps this story up insanely well. Not only are Batman’s allies featured in great supporting moments, but the tension between Batman and Nakano continues to make for some great interpersonal drama. The story has great action throughout and Tamaki does a great job of showing the reader more of the culture of Gotham City and its people. A fun, exciting and intense story with some great action.

The Art: Dan Mora delivers some beautiful art on every page of this issue. The character designs are dynamic and beautifully detailed and the action is thrilling.
