The Rundown: An unexpected return reveals a tragic accident and Bree escalates her war on Monk.

Hunter continues his life on the run while trying to avoid anyone connected to Monk and that could mean everyone in the area.

At the same time, Bree goes after more of Monk’s businesses and decides that the messages she needs to send him need to be bigger and more expensive. After confronting a group of his men, Bree’s vendetta hits a snag when her ex gets the drop on her.

The Story: The action gets more intense, the stakes get higher and the world gets more immersive in this new issue. Justin Jordan does an amazing job of subverting expectations in this series and this issue is no exception. There are things happening that are unpredictable and that makes the story more engaging to the reader. I like being surprised by plot twists, reveals and character moments that make me think and this issue does that. I really enjoy the fact that the characters are complicated emotionally and their complications make for a richer, more interesting story.

The Art: Benjamin Tiesma does awesome work with the art in this issue. The characters are dynamic and filled with detail as well as emotion. The action is fantastic and I love the panel progressions and how they are composed.
