The Rundown: Conan is close to his homeland when he is attacked by an undead army.

It’s been years since Conan left his home in Cimmeria to travel the world and have adventures. At an outpost near the borders of Cimmeria, Conan finds himself fighting the captain of the mercenary group he joined before giving his violent resignation and sitting down to enjoy his food and his coin.

When a man from the village enters to warn them of a dark sky, Conan is just in time to find himself face to face with an undead army that is rolling across the land like a relentless wave and destroying everything in its wake. An army that could already be invading Cimmeria itself.

The Story: Zub delivers a fantastic return of the Cimmerian warrior. The story has a classic feel that immediately immerses you into the world of the character and there is a great sense of rising tension throughout the issue. Not only does the tension pay off with great dialogue from Conan, but also with great action and thrills throughout as Conan fights for his life against a supernatural enemy. I’m excited to see what happens next.

The Art: De La Torre brilliantly captures the visual tone and style that makes Conan’s adventures so compelling and thrilling to readers. I love the art style and every page has wonderful details that draw the eye.
