The Rundown: Rip Hunter goes on a mission to rescue Booster Gold and Blue Beetle, and save Earth, from an alien threat.

The story opens with Rip Hunter reviewing the current plotline of the series. Afterwards, he and Teri travel back in time in an attempt to stop an alien invasion. Meanwhile, on Beh’imoor, Omnizon forces Booster and Beetle into a compromising situation. Soon, Rip arrives on the distant planet, and presents surprising information to Omnizon. Later, Rip and his companions return to Earth and are met by good friends. Finally, Teri discovers something surprising regarding Rip’s lineage and a new threat arrives on the scene.

The Story: Jurgens creates an exciting chapter that neatly resolves the situation involving Omnizon, while opening up an interesting look into Rip’s connection with the title characters. With only two issues left in this series, it will be interesting to see how Teri’s recent findings will play into Booster and Beetle’s tale.

The Art: This good-looking issue is filled with detailed drawings and bold colorwork. The art is in a modern, realistic styling that emphasizes facial features and body shape. The attention placed on the characters connects the readers to the thoughts and feelings of both hero and villain alike. And the overall visuals perfectly match the tone of the story.
