The Rundown: Oracle acts as both mentor and guide to Batgirls Cassandra Cain and Stephanie Brown.

Barbara acts as Oracle while Cassie and Stephanie battles a group of villains associated with Simon Saint. Afterwards, the trio of Batgirls discuss the roles of the Magistrates associates on both themselves and Gotham City. Later, Barbara tries to reign in the temperaments of Cassie and Stephanie and directs them on how to proceed in their investigations. Soon, the Batgirls go on patrol and make a surprising discovery.

The Story: I really like the relationship between the past and present Batgirls. It is especially interesting to see the evolution of Barbara Gordon. Evolving from the protégé of Batman, to the effective leader of a Bat Family team, she takes on the roles of both mentor and guide. I am curious how she will deal with the two hot headed Batgirls as they navigate the brutal modern world filled with Magistrate influenced enemies.

The Art: This is a colorful issue filled with action and adventure. The illustrations have a modern and youthful aspect that perfectly fits the mood of the story. I felt both emotionally connected to the characters and transported into their version of Gotham City.
