After 9 seasons of the hit series The Walking Dead, Andrew Lincoln is reportedly leaving the show.

Andrew Lincoln has played The Walking Dead’s hero Rick Grimes since the beginning of the series in 2010. Now comes news that he will be leaving the series at the end of season 9.

According to Collider and Bloody Disgusting, this news has been out for some time but outlets who got it have been holding onto it out of respect. For what, I have no idea. So what does this mean for the future of The Walking Dead?

Chandler Riggs, who played Rick’s son Carl on the series, has already left the show even though his character is still alive in the comics. Also, Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie, has taken the lead in the dramedy Whisky Cavalier on ABC and will only show up for nine episodes of the 9^th season.
