The Rundown: Claire continues to learn about her new powers as a strange phenomenon wakes up buried memories and prompts the emergence of a possible ally.

The holidays are a time of adventure in New York when a car chase through the streets of the city come to abrupt end with the help of Adventureman. After stopping the crooks, Adventureman meets the man pursuing them, The Crossdraw Kid. Back in the present, Claire wakes up with her whole family standing around her wondering why she’s been asleep for so long. Her son tries to find out more from the Adventureman books he’s been reading, but gets few answers.

After heading to the book store, Claire starts to help and her sister gets a call from Reggie telling her that there has been something strange happening to the elderly. Suddenly they all remember events from the past that they had long forgotten. After Claire and Tommy have a run in with some angry spirits in the subway, a man gets a call from his grandfather. A call that will lead him to adventure.

The Story: Fraction crafts another exciting and fun story in this issue. The evolution of Claire as a character is fun and intriguing, but what continues to make the story engaging is the relationships she has with the people in her life especially her family. The moments with her siblings, dad and son are some of the best moments in the story and that dynamic makes the story more interesting as a reader. I really enjoyed the twists in the story with the older people and their memories and cannot wait to see where the story and characters go next.

The Art: Dodson crafts some stunning art throughout the issue. The characters look fantastic and the tone of the art is whimsical and filled with gorgeous details throughout.
