Netflix continues to produce new films tackling different subjects and dramas and this new film deals with some dark subjects.
The film 6 Balloons from writer/director Marja-Lewis Ryan deals with a woman spending one night in LA with her heroin addict brother and his two-year old daughter as she tries to find a place for her brother to detox. It’s some gritty subject matter to take on for the first time director and she’s brought in some interesting casting to bring her vision to life.
Broad City’s Abbi Jacobson plays the sister and Dave Franco (The Disaster Artist) plays her addict brother in the film that has some impressive visuals from the trailer and amazing co-stars including Tim Matheson and Jane Kaczmarek.
6 Balloons is written and directed by Marja-Lewis Ryan and produced by Samantha Housman, Ross M. Dinerstein, Reid Carolin, Channing Tatum and Peter Kiernan.
6 Balloons will premiere on Netflix April 6th.
