The Rundown: Superman continues his hunt for Brainiac and discovers something that shakes him to his core.

Back on Krypton, Kal El discovers something in the woods that will give him pause. Something he will confront his mother about to see what she knows about it and more importantly, who did it. In the present, Superman continues his hunt for Brainiac. A hunt that will bring him to one of Toyman’s factories where he will discover something that will make him angry.

Superman uses information from Jimmy to hunt and take down all of Toyman’s facilities across the world as well as his customers. As he continues his hunt, he realizes that he is being baited by Brainiac into seeing the worst of humanity and he will question his commitment to helping the planet or deciding if another one is worthy of his attention.

The Story: Aaron continues to take the character to some dark and interesting places in this hunt for Brainiac. I love that the story explores Superman from a psychological perspective and challenging his notions of humanity and his commitment to helping them. I like seeing that the character is still an outsider among humans and the story pushes Kal El to some dark places that I like seeing explored.

The Art: Ferreyra crafts some beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue. I love the visuals and the style of the issue.
