The Rundown: Clayface makes it to California but struggles with what to do next.

Basil Karlo has escaped and made it to California. After taking the identity of a recently deceased man, Clayface has his apartment, his computer and apparently the helpful young lady down the hall who comes by to check on her older neighbor and bring him food. Basil decides the first order of business is to take out the imposter using his name and image and get his career back.

Unfortunately, Basil has his work cut out for him as he infiltrates the studio but cannot get close to the star who seems to have some dark secrets of his own. At the same time, his new friend has a stalker with similar tricks to Clayface and a video blogger has an unfortunate reaction live on his show. A reaction that will get Clayface’s attention.

The Story: Ellison S. Doyle crafts a dark, intense and entertaining story in this issue. I love the world being created within this story and the twists and turns that it takes as the reader finds themselves seeing the world from Basil’s perspective as well as all the things he’s missing that are connected directly to him. I really like the mystery being formed in this series and cannot wait to see where it goes next.

The Art: Galan creates some beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue. I love the visual style and how perfectly it captures the tone and mood of the story as well as its characters.
