The Rundown: An actor’s biggest fan decides getting close to the star just isn’t enough.
Priyanka is a young woman obsessed with one of the biggest stars in Bollywood. A woman named Ayesha Sen. Priyanka knows everything about the woman and has been entering a contest that would allow her to meet the woman she idolizes. With the help of her friend Nachiket, she manages to get to event Ayesha will be attending, but the meeting is not what she expected.
In the aftermath of her disappointment, Priyanka enlists Nachiket’s help again. This time, they make their way to the set of Ayesha’s latest movie there their one-on-one encounter ends in Priyanka being removed from the set unconscious and Ayesha acting and moving differently than she did before.
The Story: Bidikar creates an intense, engaging and entertaining story in this first issue. The story is wonderfully suspenseful and shows the character’s obsession in a way that is both intriguing and scary. I love the mounting tension throughout the story and the buildup to an encounter that ends with some truly interesting moments of both terror and body horror that make me excited to see what happens next.
The Art: Som creates some truly stunning art throughout the issue. I love the visual style and the mixture of visual aesthetics. I also really love the body horror scene at the end and what it foreshadows of the story to come.
