The Rundown: Kirk takes command to stop a devastating Klingon attack on Earth.

The Omega is under heavy fire and Sato turns to Kirk to take command. Kirk immediately springs into action and manages to turn the tide of the battle as he tells Sato what he needs to in order to end the Klingon advance. Unfortunately, they are too late to prevent a devastating attack on Earth that leaves several cities in ruins.

As Sato boards the Klingon ship and the Omega holds the line, another member of the crew goes on a deadly deep space mission. In the aftermath of the attack, the ship and planet are safe. Kirk pays a visit to Agnes to find out why she brought him back from the dead and the planet makes a proclamation that shatters what is left of Starfleet.

The Story: Lanzing and Kelly take the story to some dark and dramatic places while also infusing it with awesome action and thrills. The story is filled with great moments for the characters and I love having Kirk jump back into the fray. I love the progression of this story and how it delivers on the bigger story that led to the events of Discovery. I really like this story and cannot wait to see where it goes next.

The Art: Bonilla delivers great art throughout the issue. I love the visuals and how dynamic the action is on every page and panel.
