The Rundown: Batman emerges in an unknown Gotham with a new Batman protecting his city.

Batman races through the rooftops to stop a hostage situation and discovers that his sons have already done the job and done it admirably. He thinks about his pride in them as he is eliminated from the competition to gain the power to become King Omega and emerges back in Gotham using the tech he brought in his suit.

Unfortunately, the Gotham he returns to is completely different and not only is he being hunted by a group of Robins, but he finds himself facing off against the city’s Batman, Dick Grayson. As the two square off in battle, Bruce discovers what Dick has been doing as the Dark Knight and how Bruce’s actions severed his family and ended the lives of his other sons.

The Story: Williamson creates an intense, entertaining story in this issue. Not only do I love the mystery and action of the story, but also the heart at the center of it. Having Bruce face not only his own mortality and choices, but also his adopted son and his own legacy was brilliant. I love the moments between Bruce and Dick as well as the dialogue they share. I love the mystery at the end of the issue and cannot wait to see what happens next.

The Art: Mora continues to blow me away with beautifully detailed and visually stunning across every page and panel of this issue. Mora beautifully captures the power and presence of these characters.
