The Rundown: Ichabod Crane is called back to Sleepy Hollow when a new series of murders baffles the locals.

Years after Ichabod Crane helped stop the grisly murders in Sleepy Hollow, a woman finds herself in the Western Woods to meet with a clandestine lover and finds only death. When the constable calls in the owner of the local funeral home, Katrina Van Tassel and her daughter Lotte arrive to retrieve the body. Lotte seems to have a connection to something unknown and is hearing voices that use her to craft a letter to send to Ichabod Crane.

Crane and his assistant Masbath are preparing to leave for a research assignment when he receives the letter calling him back to Sleepy Hollow. As the two arrive, he meets with Katrina who is hiding a secret as Ichabod begins his investigation with an eye to disproving anything supernatural could be at play.

The Story: Gilly crafts an interesting sequel to the Paramount film version of the legend of Sleepy Hollow. The mystery at the heart of the story is engaging and the character moments kept my attention. I like the tension between Ichabod and Katrina and the secret she is keeping from him. I like the supernatural elements of the story and look forward to seeing what happens next.

The Art: Mayer crafts some beautiful art throughout the issue. I love the visual style of this issue and how it portrays the characters and the environments.
