The Rundown: Jack receives some unwelcome guests as he desperately tries to hide his secret.
Jack continues to feel guilty about the choices he made that brought him to being alone in his home with only his zombie husband and daughter to keep him company. When a group makes their way to his home, he finds himself unable to confront the truth or have anyone see how he is living.
When the group begins to suspect something is wrong, Jack locks himself in the house with the bodies of his loved ones who are struggling to get free and attack. As he continues to deal with his guilt, his dead husband escapes and what happens next will cause Jack to have an emotional break that could spell disaster for everyone.
The Story: Brombal continues to create an engaging, compelling and entertaining story in this issue. There is a tragically human story at the heart of this zombie tale and I appreciate seeing the human side of the character of Jack as he confronts his inner demons. I like the growing conflict both internal and external in this story and the plot moves into places that have me intrigued and interested in seeing where it goes next.
The Art: Phillips delivers beautiful imagery throughout the issue. I love the beautifully detailed pages and the way the art captures the emotion of the story.
