The Rundown: The Birds face one of their own as they continue to hunt down the Shadow Army.
Inque has taken over Barda and is using her to attack her fellow Birds. As the rest of the team takes on the other members of the Shadow Army alongside Constantine, Harley, Vixen and Cela try to stop a rampaging Barda from killing them all.
Constantine and Canary manage to find a way to free Barda from Inque, but the villain escapes before the rest of her compatriots can escape. The Birds also find themselves having to deal with Sin’s alter ego when it is compromised and, in the aftermath, Black Canary and the Birds of Prey manage to stop the villains, but their escape will lead to more questions about their mission and how their enemies keep staying ahead of them.
The Story: Thompson crafts a bold, fun and thrilling story in this issue. There is great action throughout and I love the mystery at the heart of this arc. Thompson creates great moments with the characters and I love the interpersonal conflict as well as the humor in the plot. I continue to love this iteration of the Birds of Prey and look forward to seeing what happens next with them.
The Art: Basri delivers great art throughout the issue. I love the visual style of the series and the thrilling imagery of the action.
