The Rundown: Wanda regains her memories and finds herself at war with herself.

The mutants responsible for resurrection gather to decide on whether or not to bring back Wanda Maximoff and part of the decision hinges on a backup of her made before M-Day. Unfortunately, the decision is taken away from them when Wanda resurrects herself. She recalls the bliss of not knowing and those moments before she fully awakens and remembers everything, including what she’s done. As Tommy and Billy take a still reeling Wanda somewhere she can relax and remember, the investigation into her murder continues with the revelation of how she was killed.

Tommy and Billy go see Northstar to tell him what they’ve discovered and it leads to a new line of inquiry as well as a bigger list of suspects. A thunderous boom stops the conversation as another giant creature comes on the island and the mutants have to fight to bring it down. In another realm, Wanda battles her future self who wants her to do something to end her torment. As Wanda goes to war with herself in different realms, she will have to make a huge decision if she has any chance of saving the people she loves.

The Story: Williams delivers a powerful story that has some interesting narrative layers to it. The story goes in some unexpected directions and each turn is more interesting than the last. Wanda’s journey in this series is really well developed and presented and I was pleasantly surprised at the direction this story took as well as the aftermath of it. I also really loved the final moments of the story and how it teases something that will definitely bring me back for the next issue.

The Art: Werneck and Messina deliver some great visuals throughout the issue. There are so many great character moments and characters in use. Every page has some great visual details to go over and enjoy.
