The Rundown: Another attack on Krakoa tests longtime friendships and familial ties.

The Russian attack on Krakoa has left the mutants shaken and its connection to Mikhail turns Beast’s attention to his brother Colossus. After publicly arresting the hero, Wolverine charges Jean with interrogating him for any information he might have or connection to his brother. After clearing Piotr of any wrongdoing, he is released, but the damage to his friendship with Beast is already done.

While Beast tries to find a way to apologize to his friend, another matter needs his attention. Omega Red is in their custody and Beast finds out not only why he is helping Dracula, but also that he might not be in control of his actions. After going to Forge with a plan to use the rogue mutant as a sleeper agent, a new threat born of the island itself emerges.

The Story: Percy delivers a great personal story for the team with plenty of drama. The characters are well done and the dialogue plays to their personalities perfectly. Beast has become a more interesting character as well and his journey as well as his constant clashing with his friends is worth the read. The setup for future stories is well done too with threats without and within being incredibly engaging.

The Art: Cassara delivers some awesome imagery throughout this issue. There are some great visual moments including the downing of the ship as well as Beast’s reckoning with Colossus.
