The Rundown: After discovering who attacked Krakoa, Beast will use some troubling tactics to get to the truth.

Kid Omega is gravely wounded and finds himself in the clutches of a familiar face. A face with close, but not too friendly ties to Colossus. As he’s dragged away along with the missing Cerebro Sword, Kid Omega manages to scrawl a message for the rest of the mutants to find before he disappears.

Beast leads the investigation into the attack and after discovering who is behind it, he proceeds to gather X-Force and question every mutant of Russian descent on the island before going to speak to his real target, Colossus. When they bring Peter back to the island, he is confronted by something that makes Logan’s skin crawl and Wolverine brings in some help to get to the truth.

At the same time, XENO begins the next stage of their plan with some unexpected assistance.

The Story: Percy does an excellent job of continuing to show the ugliness operating at the heart of this new mutant utopia. Beast is becoming an interesting character not for who he was, but for who he is becoming. It is a dark and disturbing change that is leading to some great dramatic and character moments throughout this issue. The return of XENO and their ties to the incidents happening to the island are interesting as well and the story is made more entertaining by its character connections. I am clamoring to see what comes next.

The Art: Bazaldua does some amazing work with the art. There are some great visual moments that showcase the power of these characters and there are some exaggerated camera movements with the panels that are intriguing.
