The Rundown: Diana and Etta are going to encounter even stranger things on the mysterious island they crashed on and will find help from an unusual traveler.

Wonder-Woman-Come-Back-to-Me-2-5

Diana and Etta confront the giant Jaguar sporting Steve’s plane as a piece of jewelry and find the creature surprisingly congenial. Unfortunately, that will be the only pleasant surprise the pair gets when they venture deeper into the jungle and discover a tribe of neanderthals living in another experimental plane and holding Jonah Hex prisoner.

After freeing the lawman and driving off the gun-wielding neanderthals, the trio comes upon a cave and a mysterious princess being guarded by secretive robots. With things getting weirder by the moment, Diana finally gets a lead on Steve and his party and races off to find him.

The Story: Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti seems to be steering this story in some interesting directions. The themes of time and space being out of sorts on the island open up the possibility of some really creative and experimental storytelling. While the story moves at a good pace and the dialogue keeps me interested as a reader, I wonder if the story is going to go too far in too many directions and lose the core story. This issue is fun and has some great character moments and I want to see how it develops in the next issue.

The Art: Chad Hardin and Tom Derenick offer some impressive and detailed art in this issue. Diana looks amazing and the action looks great throughout.
