The Rundown: Diana returns to her world, but her presence will not be celebrated by everyone.

Martian Manhunter is on guard duty at the Hall of Justice when Diana reappears in front of him. Her return is the subject of great joy from her teammates including Superman, Batman and Black Canary. As she wades back into the League, she is encountered by her mother who implores her to take some time before jumping back into the fight. Diana knows that there is something different about her, but she decides to take her mother’s advice and return to Themyscira.

As she returns to the island, Diana cannot help but help those in need and her actions will signal to the world that she truly has returned. A revelation that will be a joy to some, a comfort to others and a signal to some that they need to accelerate their plans.

The Story: Conrad and Cloonan craft a glorious return for Diana in this issue. Taking the time to showcase her impact and presence with her friends delivers some great dramatic moments. The story does a great job of striking a balance between Diana’s return and her introspection regarding her future. There is a sense of lightness to the story that is very engaging and everything that has been growing along the edges of Diana’s story makes me interested in what comes next.

The Art: Moore and Pugh deliver some impressive and beautifully executed art throughout the story. The visuals are thrilling and filled with gorgeous details.
