The Rundown: More people are having their reality altered and Diana will have to turn to an old enemy if she has any chance of stopping it.

In the aftermath of her attack, Diana has been rushed to Etta’s lab where she is confronted with the damage she caused while believing that parademons were attacking. It’s going to take Max Lord’s help to reveal the truth and how it is not only connected to one of his past schemes, but why he abandoned it.

At the same time, a former soldier finds himself out of control and headed to a nearby base to launch a nuclear missile. Wonder Woman will have to bring Max along with her as she tracks down the device while the person responsible reveals a connection to Diana’s new partner.

The Story: Although the ending was predictable, the journey to get to it was worth the read. Mariko Tamaki is doing some great things with the characters in this series and the story is filled with great dialogue, great character moments and a complexity that makes it worth reading. I like the fact that this story challenges Diana in ways that go beyond her strength. The continues to evolve into something that holds the interest of the reader and it’s going to be interesting to see just how intense things get with Diana working with Max.

The Art: Carlo Barberi brings a beautiful action/adventure style to the art in this issue. There are some great dramatic camera angles throughout the issue and there is an energy to the progression of the panels. The art is vibrant and powerful. A great looking issue.
