The Rundown: As Yara discovers her power, emissaries converge to either help or destroy her.

Yara finds herself deep beneath the water and in the presence of an entity that leaves her with a gift. One that connects her to the power buried deep within her. Unfortunately, her presence causes ripples round the world. The Bana-Mighdall know of her but not where she is and Artemis decides to hunt her down and kill her. At the same time, Hippolyta dispatches Cassie to Brazil to see if she can help her in some way.

After being retrieved from the water, Yara finds herself on a plane traveling back to safety. Unfortunately, her time on the plane with the man who helped her will be interrupted by the presence of two Amazon warriors sent to kill her. To make matters worse, the gods of Olympus decide to get involved and one of them has a reaction to Yara that will complicate everything.

The Story: Jones crafts a beautifully plotted story with heart, humor, action and thrills throughout. Yara’s journey is fascinating and the effect her presence has on the rest of the world has me instantly intrigued. The plot is richly detailed and filled with great character moments and development. I love the fact that there is still a level of mystery to Yara as a character and that mystery keeps me engaged as a reader.

The Art: Jones and Melo are dynamic artists with fantastic styles when it comes to character and detail. Both artists deliver some fantastic and visually engaging panels throughout this issue.
