The Pale Girl makes her next move and this time she hits the Marauder, forcing the mutants to throw over their cargo and almost killing Bishop in the process. After Wolverine awakens from the nightmare of killing his team in cold blood, he finds out that agent Bannister is the one who saved his life and brought him to a Krakoa gate in time.

Vowing to not make the same mistakes, Wolverine decides to forgo a team for his next mission and meets with Bannister to discuss a plan to lure the Pale Girl into a trap. After making arrangements on his end, Bannister and Logan take to the sea with a new shipment, but the power of the Pale Girl may prove to be more than either of them can handle.

The Story: Percy crafts an effective and terrifying thriller in the pages of this new issue. The Pale Girl is an intriguing and dangerous threat and the plot showcases just how dangerous she is to both mutants and humans alike. I like the brewing buddy cop relationship between Bannister and Logan and their “old warrior” dynamic works in this story. I’m interested in how this story progresses given the shocking conclusion of this issue and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

The Art: Adam Kubert delivers some impressive visuals. The art is dynamic and filled with energy. I like the contrast between the quieter, character focused moments and the action beats like the fight in Wolverine’s mind. Kubert does a great job of contrasting Logan and Bannister’s lives as well and I was impressed with the finale and how detailed it was.
