It’s been recently announced that Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation, Ingrid Goes West) will be joining the cast of the upcoming Disney Plus series Agatha: Coven of Chaos which will see the return of Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness from WandaVision.

It’s not clear whether the series will take place after the events of WandaVision or before, but Plaza’s addition to the cast allows for some interesting speculation about who she will be playing in the upcoming series. According to reports, she will be playing the villain of the series so I have been begun speculating on who she could take on that would rival Agatha Harkness.

Enchantress

I know this choice might be too far out of there, but there is some merit to Aubrey Plaza taking on a role like Enchantress aka Amora. Asgardians have been living on Earth since Thor: Ragnarok and the events of Thor: Love and Thunder could play a role in forcing her out of New Asgard to begin a mission to enhance and upgrade her powers using Agatha as a means of doing so. With Agatha under Wanda’s spell, it would be easy for Amora to manipulate her and steal her power.

Amora is one of the most powerful magic users in the Marvel universe, but she tends to be more stealthy and sly in her manipulations. Something Plaza could definitely play well.

Morgan Le Fay

Le Fay has connections to several characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe including a recent one. While Elizabeth Hurley did portray the character in the Runaways series, it makes sense for the character to return and be a foe for Agatha. A former pupil of Merlin, Morgan has formidable power and has a long history of battling heroes from the Avengers to Namor. She also has a connection to the Darkhold, using it to summon Cthon and then using it to banish him to Wundagore mountain (a plot point used in Multiverse of Madness). Bringing her into the MCU through the Agatha series connects the character to another one that has been recently introduced in the MCU, Dane Whitman aka The Black Knight who was introduced in Eternals.

Plaza’s version could be a version of Morgan who needs to siphon the power from other magic users in order to grant her the immortality that she craves. Also her ability to travel through time could establish a connection to Agatha in her past.

Reptilia

This character has a more direct connection to Agatha Harkness and given that this is a series, they might have the ability to establish that connection within the story.

Reptilla’s real name has not been revealed in the comics, but she is the daughter of Nicholas Scratch. Scratch is a powerful magic user and is also the son of Agatha Harkness, making Reptilla her granddaughter. As a member of Salem’s Seven, she and her siblings have clashed with Agatha many times.

Considering there has been no formal announcement of who Plaza or Joe Locke are playing in the series, it’s entirely possible that both could be playing members of Salem’s Seven come to take on their grandmother of Locke could be playing a younger version of Nicholas Scratch.

Who do you think Aubrey Plaza is playing in Agatha: Coven of Chaos? Let me know in the comments.
